Need help with iPhone 4 unlcoking

Hi!

I have a iPhone 4 that was bought from Sonera and is locked to Sonera. The problem is that although I think this phone is by now two years old I’m not sure of it. How can I check if it’s possible to unlock this iPhone? Also how does the unlocking take place, have I understood correctly that I just have to put new sim-card in and connect the phone to iTunes?

I probably should mention that person who bought this iPhone from Sonera has a new iPhone, if that changes something about the unlocking.

    Hi David,

    thanks for you message. If the contract has ended recently, the phone should unlock by itself - all you need to do is to connect your iPhone to iTunes. We can check the situation here at the customer service, if we just have the IMEI code of your phone. Here you can find the instructions for Sonera customer service in English.
