Hi,
I recently changed to sonera service (24down/1up) but got some connection questions:
1. I had used zyxel660H-61 from the previous ISP and it was set as "router" mode, but sonera requires the modem to be in "bridged" mode. Well, I made it working in that way. My question is: can the modem be set as "router" mode under sonera's connection so that I can use all the 4 ports of zyxel660H as a private network for my PCs (i.e., they will have the same intranet ID such as 192.168.*.*)?
2. Sonera's instruction for 24Mbps speed says that the modem has to be in Annex A modulation mode, but I cannot find that option in zyxel660H's WAN setting page. Is this a function activated automatically by the office side? If so, but why I still cannot get full speed as promised? Now I have only 12Mbps somehow.

It won't have to be in bridged mode.
Put it in Routing mode and be sure vpi & vci (vpi=0 vci=33 if i remember it right) is correct.
With 24/1 you may have to log in router via telnet and change it to adsl2+ mode.
start -> run -> telnet 192.168.1.1 -> password (default is 1234) -> wan adsl opencmd multimode (or wan adsl opencmd adsl2+) + hit enter...

Hi,
Thanks for the advice. I got it work as router mode now.
But the second problem -- speed -- is still puzzling me: I did the change "wan adsl opencmd adsl2+" as you suggested, but the speed showing in modem "Status" is still something around 11Mbps. Here is the channel state:
P660> wan adsl chandata
DSL standard: ADSL2+ Mode
near-end bit rate: 11084 kbps
far-end bit rate: 1023 kbps
Is the problem caused by the distance? which means I cannot get 24M from home?

The DSL standard should be ADSL 2+ so that is the correct (except if the connection is Laajakaista Extra 24/2M in which case it should be Annex M).
The bandwidth for incoming data ("near-end bit rate" on Zyxel) could be better. The distance to the ADSL Concentrator (dslam) i.e. the lenght of the landline is what it is and it can't be changed. What you could do is here:
- Do not use extension on ADSL-cable.
- Use a short and good quality ADSL-cable.
- If possible, try the connection on other telephone socket.
It's also worth to check if there's updates available for your ADSL-modem's software.
