I have an external directional antenna for my 3g Modem Huawei B593. Using http://kansalaisen.karttapaikka.fi/ I found the closest mast to my house. I can actually see the mast it's 6.7 km away on a big hill, so easy to point the antenna. So I believe I have everything setup correctly.

The speed of the connection drops off terribly in the evenings.

The slower is taken at 17:34, faster at 07:56, I have even seen slower speeds .25 Mbit/s download.

When does Sonera improve connection speeds in the Vaalajärvi Sodankylä area? Its obvious to me there is not enough capacity to handle the loads. It is every evening like this. I telecommute 100%. During the day working it is fine actually faster than the 10 Mb connection I had with @450 but evenings if I must work it's almost next to impossible and very frustrating. The @450 connection I got 7Mb/s all day.

Sunday evening 19:40.
If there is no 24 mnoth subscription, you can always try other operators.

Elisa have 3G UMTS900 in that place. Try how it works.

DNA no 3G coverage in Vaalajärvi. DNA is bad because it's not working at all in these areas, only in big cities.

The 450 connection is dead, the service provider of 450 network is stopped to provide these services, so you need to use mobile network. If Sonera is overused in area sometimes, why not to try another operator? Or send geedback to Sonera about bad connection.
