VDSL or ADLS2

Hei,

I've subscribed to KotiTV for 24 months and changed the modem to a Netgear 3300. Now I've signed up for KotiTV again and received the Thompson 789. I've entered several MAC addresses and configured my NAS for the Netgear and would rather not do it again. Can anyone tell me if Sonera uses VDSL (in Salo) and if the performance on the Thompson would be expected to be better than the Netgear?

I am willing to change if the experience should be better, but the Netgear is pretty stable right now. (3x -50ms pings, 10-15 Mbps down and .6-.7 Mbps up).

Thanks,

John

At the moment Sonera uses vdsl connections only in some condominiums that have fibre access and the vdsl is used to bring 100M connection to the apartments. When you are a new customer in this kind of place, your connection will automatically be vdsl when you buy Koti-tv (viihdepaketti).

Normal dsl connections to detached houses and others are adsl's.

If you can use your Koti-tv without problems with your netgear moden, then there's no reason for you to switch to the Thompson modem.
