Hi,

I was told by the housing company that there's "Free Sonera Internet 2M/2M" in my building. They gave me a number to call, 0200 32333. However, I'd rather do that by email, especially if there are instructions to follow.

So is there an email address to reach the same service?

Thanks for helping.

PS: Bonus question: do they provide modems like Saunalahti does? I don't think there's any direct broadband plug in this flat.

Hi,

Unfortunately there is no email address you can contact with this issue. You can either call the number you were given or contact our customer service number 0200 17000 (normal rates apply), where you can also inquire about the modem. Modem availability depends on the connection type, if there are no ethernet sockets in your apartment most likely the connection type will be ADSL or VDSL (in rare cases Cable is also available). We have modems available to all of these connection types and the price varies depending on the housing company and applicable contracts / discounts.

Thanks for the reply, I have another question. Oh, and by the way, the number "0200 32333" doesn't work anymore.

I was told that I needed a VDSL modem. Do I really need that even for a small 2M/2M connection? Is there a web page where we can see the available models from Sonera? I was thinking to get one somewhere else in Helsinki but I'm not sure where I should search, it's harder to find that I imagined.

Yes, you need the modem because of the connection type. VDSL modems are not that common at this point, so the selection of modems available is not that wide. If you don't want to order the modem from us, one place to look from is verkkokauppa.com (which has a retail store also in Helsinki, in addition to the online shop). Our modems have usually been (the model changes from time to time) Zyxel's, either P870H or P870HW -models, depending on the WLAN-option.

Thank you ! Just a question very quickly: what's the price of your cheaper model, without WLAN? The man on the phone told me about one at 90€, which seemed costly.

The price depends on the deal your housing company has with us (discounts might be available). The normal price for the basic VDSL modem is about 65 euros.
