Hi. need help.

Bought a cable modem (thomson tcm420) and a connection from sonera.

The modem shows the "internet" link - green light, AND the modem is connected to my notebook via ethernet.
The notebook (windows 7) sees the network, but the network states "no internet access"

P.S. No firewalls involved
the mac adress of the modem is the same as in the documents from sonera.
IP settings are default. - Smthing like 192.168.100.1 (modem) 192.168.100.10 (computer)

In the modem diagnostics there is a line:
Computers Allowed by Service Provider: 1
Computers Detected by Modem: 0 (????!!)

Could anyone PLEASE help or provide ideas?
I've tried nearly everything.
But i don't know finnish and the english tech support of sonnera doesn't answer any calls for 20-30 minutes.

Thank you!

try set your computer ip config on automatic. so it will fetch ip from soneras dhcp.
i believe that modem dont have NAT so that 192.* wont work

Have you tried to reset the cable modem?

If reseting the modem doesn't help, you should reports the non-working connection to Sonera Technical Customer Care by calling 0206 90101 and choose 7 (English service) and 2 (Broadband). There is a possibility that your cable modem hasn't been allocated for internet use.
